Empowering women to change their lives through powerful legal action may be our thing, but we do even more to help the still-not-equal half of the United States. Our newest endeavor? The Not Accepting the Status Quo/ Women Disruptors Scholarship, that we hope will help raise up the future generation in the fight for women’s rights.
Who Is This Scholarship For?
Our Women Disruptors Scholarship is a way of acknowledging the bravery of women’s rights advocates, supporting their education + future, demonstrating that A Case for Women cares about the next generation. We are about taking action to empower women, point blank.
The ideal applicant is a student (any gender) at any level, attending a 4-year accredited institution of higher learning + making change happen. You could be organizing marches/ fundraisers / peaceful protests, leading the conversation on social media, attracting a loyal following as an influencer, helping run campaigns, writing/ giving speeches. Really anything.
Your focus could include or expand on:
- fair pay
- freedom of choice
- quality of healthcare
- maternal/ infant mortality
- restrictive statutes of limitations (SOLs) assault
- clinical trials
- thwarted research for breast/ ovarian cancer cures
- protecting a woman’s rights in some out-of-the-box way
Yes, do think outside the box.
Students who are pushing positive impact + attempting to right these wrongs are already part of the tribe we’re talking about – it’s our tribe too.
How Do You Apply?
Eligibility:
Please meet the following requirements to enter: Male and female undergraduate, graduate students are eligible. You must be enrolled as an active student at a US-based accredited 4-year college, studying in a women’s rights-related field: political science, women’s studies, pre-law, or focus related to social justice (preferred).

Written Essay entries must be between 800-1,250 words. Authentic content only – we will screen for use of AI tools. Please use: docx, doc, pdf. 6.25KB maximum file size.

Submit all documents and videos in English. The deadline for fall submissions is July 15 with winners announced August 5; deadline for spring submissions is December 1 with winners announced January 5.
What Happens Next?
We are anticipating a flurry of submissions and not planning to blast through them without thoughtful attention to each, though we will work expeditiously. You’ll know in about six weeks how your entry fared. We’re looking for originality and the gripping power of expression re: your chosen topic. Keep in mind that winning entries may receive widespread exposure, so of course keep the tone appropriate. We’d like your work to register on the most emotional radars – disrupting outdated viewpoints, not accepting the status quo.
