Yes – A Case for Women is legit.
We have a 10-year history of helping women and their families access contingency-fee legal help and are recognized by legal industry leaders as the premier resource for educating survivors about civil legal action. A Case for Women’s registered trademark is “We’re Changing the Narrative about Lawsuits®” and that is what we do every day.
If you or a family member has experienced sexual assault through the negligence of an institution or corporation that turned a blind eye to predators, we are here for you. We are also here for you if you were hurt by a pharmaceutical product, medical device, or food or beauty product that was supposed to be safe.
Why Does A Case for Women Do What It Does?
The founders of A Case for Women, mother-daughter team Susan and Jordan Knape, were driven to help other women avoid what they had lived through: hurt and feeling alone with no knowledge of where to go for help.
Jordan & Susan Knape
Since women everywhere are disproportionately harmed by sexual assault, drugs, and medical devices, and yet the “vibe” of the legal field has always been testosterone driven, there was a need for a company to educate women about civil legal action and create a safe space for them to utter these words: “It happened to me.”
Today we continue our deep personal commitment to breaking the long-standing cycle of abuse and “just accepting” it (or “stuffing it”) that has persisted for generations.
How Many People Work at A Case for Women and Who Runs the Organization?
In 2025, we have around 80 team members spread out all over the United States. We are a completely virtual company.
A Case for Women is privately held and is run by its original founders (women!) along with its excellent mission-driven team.
As far as we know, we are the only women-owned and women-led company of our kind in the legal space.
What Has A Case for Women Actually Accomplished?
Since our founding in 2015, we have made a positive, personal difference in countless lives, and contributed to major societal changes. These changes include the discontinuation of products like Johnson & Johnson’s talc-based baby powder and Essure birth control as well as changes in the handling of sex abuse accusations for survivors of assault like gymnastics assault, Dr. Anderson, the Alexander Brothers, and other prominent abusers.
Here are our results by the numbers:
166,000
33,000
127
Our work has not only resulted in compensation for survivors, but it has also helped create systemic change that makes the world safer for all of us.
Here are just a few examples:
- Launching major efforts to expose how companies like Uber and Lyft have failed to protect passengers from assault.
- Holding Big Pharma accountable for dangerous products like Essure, Depo Provera, and Paragard.
- Supporting women abused by predator doctors and fertility clinics.
- Challenging institutions like the Catholic Church and the Boy Scouts for decades of abuse.
- Spreading the word about the unfathomable problem of Roblox sexual exploitation and Roblox sextortion, despite parental controls.
- Warning of the crisis of video game addiction.
Every cause we support is about more than money. We’re about helping people be heard, take back control, and drive real, lasting change with their voices – even one voice.
How Does A Case for Women Get Paid – Are You a Nonprofit?
We are not a nonprofit, but we operate a nonprofit foundation (a 501c3) called A Fund for Women that supports women who are too often burdened with hardships caused by gender inequality. AFFW is set up to provide immediate cash, up to $500, to women who just can’t wait.
A Case for Women is an LLC based in Dallas, Texas. We are paid by law firms that recognize our ability to spread the word about various issues that pertain to women. We also provide paid services to law firms such as in-depth interviews with survivors and follow-up to ensure that their potential cases move along seamlessly.

To earn WBENC certification means one or more women must have unrestricted control of the business demonstrating management of day-to-day company operations and a proportionate investment of capital or expertise. It vets and excludes male-owned companies that try to claim women comprise a significant position of leadership when they do not!
To become WBENC certified, business owners undergo a thorough vetting process, including review of business documentation and a dedicated website, plus verification of the highest Better Business Bureau (BBB) rating of A+. The BBB assigns ratings from A+ (highest) to F (lowest), indicating how well a business is operating.
A Case for Women is rated A+ with the BBB.
