Were You Sexually Assaulted by Dr. Arpit Saxena During a Medical Exam?

Arpit Saxena, 39, was a resident physician working to complete his medical training at Michigan State University’s Osteopathic Manipulative Medicine (OMM) Clinic in East Lansing. He was criminally charged on Sept. 3, 2026, with three counts of third-degree criminal sexual conduct and one count of fourth-degree criminal sexual conduct after two women reported he sexually assaulted them when they visited him for unrelated joint and muscle adjustments at the MSU facility.1

The university waited four days after the first patient complaint to remove Saxena from continuing patient contact. During those four days, he assaulted another patient who was seeing him for a “non-sensitive” hip adjustment in the very same examining room. She found herself alone on the table when Saxena began fondling her genitals and digitally raped her.2

Let that sink in…the university waited for four days to remove an accused abuser from potential victims.

If you feel you were treated inappropriately during an exam by Dr. Arpit Saxena at Michigan State University (MSU), you can fight back with a Dr. Saxena lawsuit. Contact our team today to see what your options are.

“I think I’ve just been raped,” one of the first two documented patients said after Saxena examined her for an unrelated hip issue. 3

What Does Doctor Assault Look Like?

Assault by a doctor can look…confusing.

For starters, doctors (historically speaking) have a trusted position of authority in our society. They are seen as someone trustworthy and hard-working since it takes a lot of time, work, and patience to become a doctor. Surely, that must be some sort of filter for sexual predators.

Sadly, no. Doctor assault can be many things, such as:

  • Inappropriate touching
  • Unneeded physical exams
  • Uncomfortable questions about your sex life or other personal things
  • Ungloved exams
  • Insistence on exposing part(s) of your body that are not relevant to the exam

Bottom line: if something felt “off” during your appointment, it may have been doctor assault.

Is There a Dr. Saxena Lawsuit?

Yes, the Dr. Saxena lawsuit has begun. Multiple women have already come forward, and it’s likely there are more survivors out there.

Just remember: just because you reported the assault to the police doesn’t mean you are part of any legal action. You must speak with a sexual assault lawyer to pursue litigation.

There’s also a big difference between a criminal lawsuit (putting the perpetrator in jail) and a civil lawsuit, which goes after a larger entity that failed to protect survivors. In this instance: Michigan State University (MSU), which honestly doesn’t have a great history of protecting assault survivors. Remember Dr. Larry Nassar and the numerous young gymnasts he assaulted? Fun fact: he worked at MSU, too.

Straight talk: Survivors, please don’t wait to act. There is a limited window to take legal action. If you were hurt by Saxena, reach out to A Case for Women. We are here to help you understand your legal options.

How Can A Case for Women Help Me?

We can help with all of the above and more. We’re women and some of us are also survivors of sexual assault.

Here are some of the dozen-plus national campaigns we’ve created to support civil lawsuits fighting giant corporations and institutions that knowingly enabled doctors to assault patients.

Please contact us 24/7/365. The reason we exist is to aid  you in surviving this ordeal better + faster.
