Dr. Oumair Aejaz Lawsuit

Were You Secretly Filmed by Dr. Aejaz?

Meet Michigan’s Dr. Oumair Aejaz, who has been secretly filming unknowing women, men, and yes, even children, in bathrooms, changing rooms, and other private areas for at least six years.

While investigators are still determining who and how many individuals have been affected, there is debate over whether his employers knew, or should have known, adding to the outrage surrounding the investigation.

Now all these random people (many as yet still unaware) are waiting to learn if they were unwittingly captured on his cameras. The number of victims is unknown “because there are so many of them,” said Oakland County’s (Rochester) Sheriff Michael J. (Mike) Bouchard.

“There are thousands and thousands of images and videos that we will have to work, law enforcement in partnership with others, to identify who those victims are,” said Karen D. McDonald, the Oakland County prosecutor, on August 20, 2024, as reported in the New York Times.1

How Did Dr. Aejaz Get Away with Filming People?

Dr. Aejaz started practicing internal medicine in the Rochester area in 2018. He is accused of committing sexual assault at his residence, several prominent hospitals, and the Goldfish Swim School near Detroit.

At these places during his time off, Aejaz installed hidden cameras in hospital changing rooms, patients’ hospital rooms, public private bathhouses, swimming pool locker rooms and dressing rooms, closets, and bathrooms.

Fox News Detroit coverage indicated he may have first targeted two young children and their mother at the swim school.4

Here are some of the places Aejaz hid cameras:

  • Henry Ford Macomb Hospital (Clinton Township)
  • Ascension Genesys Hospital (Grand Blanc)
  • Goldfish Swim School
  • Detroit Medical Center Sinai-Grace Hospital
  • Corewell Health William Beaumont University Hospital

Aejaz was a contract physician at these hospitals, so never a full employee, but that doesn’t mean his former administrators should be let off the hook if it is confirmed they knew, or should have known, about his criminal activities.

Sidenote: Police do not believe employees at the Goldfish Swim School knew of Aejaz’s activities, and the school claims the cameras were not affixed but carried in and out of the facility on his person.5

Is There a Dr. Aejaz Lawsuit?

Yes, several. Aejaz was arrested August 8, 2024, and criminally charged with 10 felony sex crimes, according to Sheriff Bouchard’s office and court records. To apprehend him, police acted on “concerning” information provided by his wife, who filed for divorce earlier in 2024.6

Outcome? Aejaz has been charged with “producing child sexually abusive activity” (which is CSAM – child sexual abuse material), “five counts of committing crime using video, and four counts of capturing or posting images of an unclothed person.”7

Plaintiffs are also accusing him of sexually (physically) assaulting patients under anesthesia.8 “It’s hard to look at the videos of that activity where a woman is basically unconscious in a hospital bed, and he’s violating her,” Sheriff Bouchard said of one episode.

The New York Times says the criminal justice system will decide if Aejaz can be convicted and punished by law, since he is not a US citizen.

Again, you may not have been Aejaz’s patient or even known him. But if he filmed you without your consent, you likely have legal options. Please come forward.

Why Should You Contact A Case for Women?

ACFW has been in business for eight years, and in that time no case area has gotten our attention more than sexual assault. We’ve already helped more than 10,000 surviving women (men and children, too).

These predators should have been stopped in their tracks, but their employers allowed them to continue destroying people’s lives for years, sometimes decades. Many of the actual perpetrators, you’ll note, were doctors:  Larry Nassar (Michigan State University), Robert Anderson (University of Michigan), Richard Strauss (Ohio State University), Dr. Fabio Ortega, on and on.

And together with our attorneys, we’ve also gone up against the state of Michigan, the Catholic Church,  the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, Uber (rideshare), and the Troubled Teen Industry.

What these predators and entities have in common is they’re all people you placed your trust in who betrayed you by harming you, or allowing you to be harmed, in the most intimate way.

  • Criminal courts go after individual assailants like Aejaz for a conviction and punishment, but a criminal lawsuit doesn’t mean you can’t also file a civil lawsuit.
  • We use the civil courts to go after Big Bads who didn’t weed out predators before hiring them, or ignored their crimes when they were reported. Instead of prison time, we seek to make decision-makers pay you back some of the profits they reaped by putting, and leaving, you in jeopardy.

All due respect, this guy is so creepy. Those whose lives Aejaz has affected deserve the finest possible national legal minds defending them on a contingency-fee basis (you win something or you pay your lawyers nothing) and the most substantive financial compensation for having suffered something so unspeakable.

Help us stop the spread of this wickedness and protect others from suffering. We’re here for you 100% always, 24/7/365. We’re also here for you and are ready to talk.
