Time is Running Out in the Dow Corning Breast Implant Settlement

As a woman and a mass tort attorney, I am keenly aware of the dangerous products that manufacturers market and sell to women on a daily basis. While preying upon issues women face as a result of illness or appealing to a women’s insecurities about their bodies, many manufacturers knowingly cover up long-term side effects and harm caused by their products. Dow Corning in their marketing and selling of breast implants are a perfect example of such a company’s blatant disregard for women’s health.  Although the Dow Corning Settlement Trust began in the early 1990’s, the Trust is still paying claims today and will continue to do so on claims filed on or before June 3, 2019. You may be a candidate for settlement based on the harm the Dow Implants have caused you.

I have friends and family who had breast implants after mastectomies and others who got them for purely cosmetic reasons; yet, today, as I learn more and more about the harm these implants have caused countless women, the “why” they got them no longer matters. What they are facing now with respect to health issues caused by the implants is what is of utmost importance and concern to me. Women have received settlements from Dow because of rupture, leakage, and illnesses associated with the implants. Today, this Dow Corning Settlement Trust is continuing to pay women for both new and worsening diseases caused by their implants. Women with implants often face auto-immune disorders, develop arthritis, chronic fatigue, fibromyalgia, and much more. It is amazing to me that Dow Corning assured so many women that their implants were safe when clearly, as seen by the above, Dow lied.

Although Dow has continued to settle with women across the country for the injuries suffered because of their implants, they are winding down this process. The last day to file a claim with Dow for settlement will be June 3, 2019.

Currently, the Dow Corning settlement facility is processing claims for injuries resulting from implants inserted prior to 1993

The Dow Settlement Facility is currently paying women for health injuries resulting from having implants. EVEN IF YOU FILED A CLAIM YEARS AGO FOR RUPTURE OR LEAKAGE, YOU STILL MAY HAVE A DISEASE CLAIM THAT MAKES YOU ELIGIBLE FOR COMPENSATION. If you or a loved one wants to submit a claim for payment from the Dow Corning Settlement Trust time is of the essence –you must submit claim forms and medical records with a postmark date of on or before June 3, 2019 to the Settlement Trust in order to recover for injuries associated with breast implants. Based on this deadline, the time to take action is RIGHT NOW because as of JUNE 3, 2019, claims will no longer be accepted.

You may have health complications that you don’t even realize stem from you having implants. Some of the health complications associated with the Dow Corning breast implants are known to cause connective tissue disease, lupus, scleroderma, or other autoimmune diseases. Please see a doctor at once if you think you may have health issues associated with Dow Corning Breast Implants implanted prior to 1993.
