Essure

A birth control device (internal coil) known for breaking internally after “permanent” placement. In 2020, Bayer settled the majority of Essure lawsuits, about 39,000 claims, for $1.6 billion.² All units were removed from US shelves on December 31, 2018. >>

Depo Provera

Pfizer's three-month birth control injection faces litigation alleging that its progestin hormone causes meningioma brain tumors, which can pressure brain tissue and cause dangerous neurological effects.³ Lawsuits seek compensation to help affected women and improve product safety. >>

Paragard

Teva Pharmaceuticals + CooperSurgical’s T-shaped copper IUD (intrauterine device) can break upon routine removal in a doctor’s office, causing the need for additional surgery and sometimes hysterectomy. Thousands of women have filed Paragard lawsuits.⁴ >>

Ozempic

Popular weight loss drugs including Ozempic, from Danish manufacturer Novo Nordisk, can cause Gastroparesis, or stomach paralysis. The culprit is believed to be semaglutide, Ozempic’s active ingredient. Semaglutide is also found in Novo’s Wegovy in even higher amounts.⁵ Ozempic lawsuits focus on the injury + the misleading promotion of weight loss drugs as completely safe. >>

Hernia mesh

Hernia mesh made of polypropylene plastic by major manufacturers was routinely used for surgical repairs but becomes rigid if surrounding tissue pulls back ("erodes"), potentially puncturing nearby organs like a weapon and requiring additional surgeries.⁶ Mesh lawsuits seek to hold manufacturers accountable with zero tolerance and provide damages to survivors of these complications. >>

Transvaginal Mesh/”Y” Mesh

Polypropylene transvaginal mesh (TVM) used to treat pelvic organ prolapse (POP) and stress urinary incontinence (SUI) has caused irreparable organ damage in women, resulting in bladder control loss and severe pain that prevents normal activities including sexual function.⁷ Lawsuits target the mesh manufacturers for these devastating complications. >>
